YOUR ROUTE TO THE MUSIC INDUSTRY

This course has been specifically designed for adult learners who have not studied A-levels or a BTEC qualification before but who would like a quick route into Higher Education.
You’ll get hands on experience through a broad range of projects from recording bands and using studio equipment to creating your own samples and exploring synthesis. You will develop a solid grounding in a range of music production, technology, composition and performance skills. There are also specialist modules including Digital Mixing Production, Sound Design, Audio Production, Sampling and Mastering. You will also gain an understanding of the structure of the music industry, the key aspects of the business such as contracts, royalties, licensing and promoting yourself as an artist.

HANDS ON - THE BEST GEAR
‘Hands on’ is our middle name! Whilst we provide our students with the necessary theoretical foundation they need to support their vocational practice, it is our belief that students should spend most of their time honing their music production craft and getting practical experience on the very best industry standard gear.
WHAT COULD THIS LEAD TO?
In addition to the technical skills you will acquire, the course will prepare you academically for University level courses, such as the FdAs, HNDs and BA Hons degree we offer here at dBs Music. Further, if you go on to achieve a degree-level course, the student loan taken out for the Access course will be closed.

This qualification is equivalent to 3 A-Levels. Upon completion you will have a Level 3 Access to HE Diploma: Music Production & Technology
No formal music qualifications are necessary but you will need 4 GCSE’s at grades A – C, which must include either English or Maths. We will also consider other qualifications and experience.
We also deliver English & Maths GCSE retakes which you can take alongside your course.

If you have a loan to fund your Access to HE course and then go on to complete a Higher Education course, you will not have to repay the remaining loan for the Access course.
