This course has been specifically designed for learners over 19 years who would like a fast-track route into Higher Education. This intensive 1 year course equips you with all the skills you'll need to take your learning to the next level, as well as the UCAS Points needed to go on to University study. During the course you will develop a solid grounding in a range of music production, technology, composition and performance skills. The specialist modules include Studio Production, Composition & Music Theory, Acoustics, Audio Sequencing, Sampling and Mastering.
You’ll get hands on experience through a broad range of projects from recording bands and using studio equipment to creating your own samples and exploring synthesis. This course will give you an extensive overview of the recording process, providing you with skills to work effectively in a studio recording environment.
You will learn how to use start-of-the-art equipment that can be found in today’s audio industries, from microphones and mixing desks through to samplers and leading software packages including Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools and Native Instruments Komplete. Another exciting area this course provides is using the skills you will have developed in music production, composition and sound creation and applying them to projects relating to the moving image, such as creating soundtracks, sound effects and atmospheres.
You’ll also develop your personal, business and management skills to give you everything you need to make your mark on the music industry. You will look at how the music industry works and how to get employment in it with a focus on how to market and promote yourself in the music industry.

There are no formal entry requirements for this course, however; as it is a fast-track to HE option, we do require that you have some experience in music, either as a musician, a producer, a DJ, etc.
If you are unsure if you have the right experience, simply get in touch and we can help guide you.
We also offer introductory short courses aimed at providing you with a foundation in music production, which could provide you with the right level of experience to be accepted

If it is your 1st Level 3 qualification then the course will be free.
If you already have a Level 3 qualification you will need to apply for an Advanced Learning Loan or pay the course fees.
