A cutting edge course focused on dynamic, nonlinear and adaptive audio technologies to create music and sound design work for console, mobile and online games and apps


This course is for anyone determined to break into sound in the games industry and will give you the skills you need to work in sound design, audio post-production, audio implementation, audio management and beyond. You will be given an initial grounding in techniques and technologies associated with sound design for games and apps as well as being introduced to the emerging models of audio development within the rapidly expanding games industry.

You will then move on to study sound design, sound implementation and audio programming in greater detail. The teaching programme also comprises theory and practice in areas including creation of surround sound and composing music scores for games. Additionally, you will learn the structural importance of sound in games and apps.

Students have the opportunity to link with various production companies in Bristol and students are involved with actual projects being carried out in the area.

UK Applicants must have GCSE English Language at C or above, or an equivalent qualfication such as Functional Skills Level 2.

Applicants who do not have English as their first language must have:

IELTS, minimum of 6.0 in each category (within the last 2 years) or an equivalent qualification.


The tuition fees for the 2017/2018 academic year:

UK and EU full-time fees: £9,000 per year

Students on this course are also official students of the University of St Mark & St John, our validating university, and can apply to Student Finance for a tuition fee loan to cover the full cost of your course. There are also loans available to help you cover living costs too.
