What is a memorable musical memory from your childhood?

Watching Grease and thinking 'there must be more to life than this'... and then discovering there was by watching Jimi Page play his guitar with a violin bow!

Haven't got one I don't think! How boring!

What pop legend would you dress up as for a party? 

Adam Ant.

Music software, what's your weapon of choice? 

A healthy mix of Ableton Live and Pro Tools.

What's your fave piece of music tech hardware?

U87 (sorry, really obvious one!).

What are you most proud of? 

I'm most proud of the production of the seven or so albums I've been involved in the creation of over the last few years.

What are your three favourite music tech techniques? 

  • Some of the blending effects you can create using the clip view automation in Ableton Live;
  • Re-amping through a Fender guitar amp;
  • Granular Synthesis.

What is your favourite thing about dBs? 

The way dBs supports you in achieving all you want to achieve in both the production of music and in the teaching of this subject to others.

If you could go back in time, where would you go? 

I want to say the Cretaceous period but in reality that would be pretty scary!

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?

1 or 2 hours of additional sleep every night.
