What is a memorable musical memory from your childhood?

Reading Festival 1990.
Perhaps not the best festival in the world, but my first. I was 14 and got to see The Pixies, Faith No More, Smashing Pumpkins, Senseless Things, Mega City Four and others. It was pretty tame really, but I felt like a rock n roller.

What was your most embarrassing music-related moment? 

My cue dropped out (namely the drummer) during a live Radio 1 broadcast. It made it look like I made a mistake at a fairly crucial moment which 1000's would have noticed.

What three albums would you take to a desert island (and those you'd really take, not those that'll impress the readers!)? 

The Django Reinhardt - Anthology;
Tom Middleton - The Trip;
Gilles Peterson and Norman Jay - Desert Island Discs.

What would your super power be? 

To see into the Future.

What pop legend would you dress up as for a party? 

Jimi Hendrix.

Music software, what's your weapon of choice? 

Reaktor.

What's your fave piece of music tech hardware?

Møog Sub Phatty.

What are you most proud of? 

My Daughter.

What are your three favourite music tech techniques? 

  • Elastic Audio.
  • Grouping.
  • Reaktor effects.

What is your favourite thing about dBs? 

The Ethics.

If you could go back in time, where would you go? 

1969.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?

A house extension (acoustically designed).
