Break out of your bedroom and get started on the career path you've always dreamed of. In the 21st Century music technology is a serious career. This diploma looks at electronic music production skills including sequencing, mixing, effects, fundamental studio recording techniques, music, sound for moving image and composing music. Equipment knowledge will cover everything from microphones and mixing desks through to samplers, hardware controllers and software as well as developing DJ skills and techniques.
You will use all the leading software packages including Logic Pro, Ableton Live, Pro Tools and Native Instruments Komplete.
This 2 year course covers many aspects of music technology and music production but has a key focus on the skills relevant to students interested in electronic music and DJ production.
You will be trained in essential music production techniques, both modern and traditional, broadening your skills as a producer and giving you greater insight into working with sound in general. You will learn how to record your own sounds and edit samples, to create new sounds that will enable you to create original sounding music. In addition, this course has a focus on essential skills based on DJ Performance, you will be introduced to the world of turntablism and a multitude of other mixing and performance techniques such as using Ableton Live as a DJ tool as well as various other control surfaces.
You’ll also develop your personal, business and management skills to give you everything you need to make your mark on the music industry. In the 21st Century music technology is a serious career, and this course will get you started on the career path you've always dreamed of. You will look at how the music industry works and how to get employment in it with a focus on how to market and promote yourself in the music industry.

+ ENTRY REQUIREMENTS
To join the Level 3 diploma you will need a minimum of 4 GCSE’s at grades A – C and must include either English or Maths. Or an equivalent qualification such as a Level 2 Diploma.
To join the Level 2 diploma you will need a minimum of 4 GCSE's at grades D-F (including English and maths), however other qualifications and skills will be considered at interview.

We also deliver English & Maths GCSE retakes which you can take alongside your Diploma.
+ FUNDING & COURSE COSTS
All full-time courses are FREE to EU residents who are under 19 years old on the 31st August prior to your course starting in September.

+ QUALIFICATION DETAILS
Our level 3 diplomas are Post-16 vocational qualifications, awarded by RSL Awards. Upon completion you will have achieved a Music Production RSL Extended Diploma Level 3 (Music Practitioners).
This qualification is equivalent to 3 A-Levels and carries the UCAS points needed for University study.
Level 2 students will achieve a Music RSL Diploma and can progress on to a Level 3 qualification.
