OVERVIEW

Turn your performance 'up to 11' in this fantastic foundation degree programme at dBs Music.

Alongside the technical and creative work, you will be developing your understanding of the music industry and how you can make a living from it. Subjects include: event management, online business, budgeting and finance, management processes, career strategies, project management and PR and marketing skills. During this course you will master the technology that supports performance, record and produce your own music and learn to use technology as an extension of your instrument.

The Music Performance & Technology degree is run in partnership with Cornwall College.

A HOME TO HONE YOUR SKILLS

As with all dBs Music centres, students will find industry experienced staff, excellent equipment and a relaxed learning environment. Day-to- day the course is delivered through seminars, workshops, group work, performances, studio work and individual practice sessions. You will develop a routine of professional practice based around your instrument and the skills you need to develop. You will also plan and manage public performances in and around Cornwall.

QUALIFICATION

A Higher National Diploma (HND) is a higher education qualification equivalent to two years at university. Unlike many degrees, these courses are vocationally focused and therefore can lead straight on to a career. Moreover, they're a great stepping stone up to a higher qualification, as you can choose to 'top up' your HND with an additional year of study to convert it to a full bachelor's degree.

ENTRY REQUIREMENTS

UCAS Points: 48 Points

Qualifications: AS/A-Levels or relevant level 3 qualification i.e. BTEC National Diploma/BTEC Extended Diploma at PPP, Access to HE Diplomas.

Plus GCSEs at grade C or above in English Language and Mathematics: alternatives at Level 2 may be considered.
