What is a memorable musical memory from your childhood?

Listening to music in Reform Records in Exeter and buying my first vinyls. Inspiring and insanely good! 

What was your most embarrassing music-related moment? 

Walking into a studio when Dave Grohl was recording a vocal take. The engineers were angry but Dave Grohl gave me a big cheesy smile and stuck both thumbs up.

What three albums would you take to a desert island (and those you'd really take, not those that'll impress the readers!)? 

Metronomy - The English Riviera;
Leftfield - Leftism;
LCD Sound System - This is Happening.

What would your super power be? 

Speaker Head Man.

What pop legend would you dress up as for a party? 

Lou Reed.

Music software, what's your weapon of choice? 

Pro Tools.

What's your fave piece of music tech hardware?

Alan Smart C2 bus compressor.

What are you most proud of? 

The opening ceremony of the 2012 Olympic Games. I was a part of Underworld, a small team of people, who over sore all of the music and helped train up the volunteers for the big night.

What are your three favourite music tech techniques? 

  • Big sounding recordings.
  • DJ Scratching.
  • Reverb.

What is your favourite thing about dBs?

The Staff.

If you could go back in time, where would you go? 

Late 80's early 90's. It would be nice to be 10 years older than I was, when I was there.

What single thing would improve the quality of your life?

Surfing more!
